About

Hi, I’m Amber, a registered counsellor based in Melbourne and the founder of Hilary’s Heart.

My passion for supporting grieving children stems from both personal experience and professional expertise. My grief journey began at 14, with the sudden death of my mum, Hilary. This loss shaped my journey and fuelled the motivation to help children navigate their grief with compassion, empathy and understanding.

With advanced grief training from the National Centre for Childhood Grief and qualifications and experience in counselling, community services, and program design and facilitation, I’ve spent years working with at-risk youth and their families. I’m also a dedicated volunteer at Feel the Magic and a member of the Loss and Grief Practitioners’ Association.

Hilary’s Heart was created to ensure that no child has to face their grief alone. Through engaging and accessible online programs, I provide children with the tools, guidance, and support they need to understand their emotions, build confidence, and develop healthy coping strategies. Every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported, and I’m honoured to walk alongside them on their journey towards healing.
